Newark Man Arrested For Possession Of Cocaine With Intent To Distribute And Other Charges

Today at approximately 12:55 a.m., Roselle Park Patrolman Angelo Marino conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2015 Hyundai on the 100 block of East Westfield Ave for a moving and an equipment violation. According to police, an investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle, Gerardo Arencibia Jr., age 32 from Newark, to be in possession of over an ounce of suspected cocaine and suspected marijuana along with drug paraphernalia.

He was placed under arrest, processed, and later charged with Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute within 1,000 feet of a School, Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute within 500 feet of a Park, two (2) counts of Possession of CDS and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Arencibia Jr. was served a summons for the aforementioned charges with a Union County Superior Court date. Motor vehicle summonses were also issued and he was ultimately released on his own recognizance.

April 13, 2017
At approximately 10:18 p.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2010 Toyota on Locust Street for an equipment violation. Following an investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Liza C. Moody, age 32 from Irvington, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Ms. Moody was issued and released on a summons with a court date. Motor vehicle summonses were also issued.

April 14, 2017
Around 1:39 in the morning, Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2010 Hondas on West Westfield Avenue at Faitoute Avenue for an equipment violation. Following an investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Jada C. Fairley, age 22 from Union, and passenger Ahsan A. Watts, age 18 from Newark, were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both occupants were placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They were both issued and released on a summons with a court date. Motor vehicle summonses were also issued.

April 18, 2017
A little after midnight, Patrolman John Fitzgerald conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2008 Honda on East Westfield Avenue at Linden Road after reportedly observing an occupant toss an item out of the passenger side window onto the state highway. Following an investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Khali S. Munroe, age 19 from Sayreville, and passenger Mohamed S. Elshrif, age 19 from Old Bridge, were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Both occupants were placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS. They were later issued and released on a summons with a court date. Motor vehicle summonses were also issued.

Later that day around 10:30 at night in an unrelated incident, Patrolman Kyle Snyder conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2005 Acura in the parking lot of McDonald’s on West Westfield Avenue at Locust Street. Following an investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Kristen E. Reed, age 30 from Fairfield, VT and passenger Amber Billings, age 29 from Richford, VT were found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and hypodermic syringes. Ms. Billings was also found to be in possession of suspected heroin. Both occupants were placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Hypodermic Syringes. Additionally, Ms. Billings was charged with Possession of CDS. They were later issued and released on a summons with a court date. Motor vehicle summonses were also issued.

Two Bicycles Reported Stolen Over The Weekend

On Saturday, April 15th, Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) officers responded to the 200 block of East Westfield Avenue on a report of a stolen bicycle. An employee of a local business reported that their bicycle was stolen from where it was parked behind the building. The bicycle – valued at $250 – was described as a mountain bicycle; light-blue & white in color. The bicycle was said to have been left unsecured at the time of the theft which occurred Friday night at approximately 11 o’clock at night. The incident is under investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Roselle Park Police Department at (908) 245-2300.

The very next day, on Sunday, at around 9 p.m., RPPD officers responded to the Green Acres complex off of West Lincoln Avenue on a report that a resident had their bicycle stolen from where it was parked. The bicycle was described as a Diamondback BMX style bicycle; pink, brown, and white in color. It was valued at $350. The bicycle was said to have been left unsecured at the time of the theft which occurred between 7:30 p.m. and 9 o’clock at night.

RPPD reminds residents to make sure their bicycles are secured with a lock when unattended.

April 19, 2017
At approximately 11:09 p.m., Patrolman Kyle Snyder observed a silver Honda on Locust Street in violation of NJSA 39:3-66 (Maintenance of Lamps). A motor vehicle stop of the vehicle was conducted with a subsequent investigation, resulting in the discovery of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The passenger, Alquan Dobbs, age 24 of Newark, was placed under arrest and charged with 3rd degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, 3rd degree Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute, 3rd degree Distribution of CDS within 1,000 feet of School Property, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, and Failure to Turnover CDS to Police. Mr. Dobbs was processed pending a Union County Superior Court date and was then turned over to the Irvington Police Department for an outstanding warrant for $200.

April 20, 2017
At approximately 3:14 a.m., Patrolwoman Jessica Diaz and Patrolman Angelo Marino were dispatched to the 100 block of West Clay Avenue on a report of a group of suspicious males who appeared to be trespassing at a local residence. A pedestrian stop was conducted with a male in the area who fit the description given by the caller. The stop and investigation resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana on the suspicious male. The pedestrian, Maximinio A. Cruz, age 20 of Roselle Park, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS. Mr. Cruz was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date.

April 21, 2017
A little past 12:30 in the morning, Lieutenant Manuel Jimenez – while on distracted driver patrol – observed a black Cadilac traveling on East Westfield Avenue with the driver of the vehicle appearing to be using her cell phone while driving. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle was found to be a 16-year-old female who was unlicensed and issued a motor vehicle summons for the same. The motor vehicle stop and investigation resulted in the discovery of the passenger, Isaiah D. Sanjuanelo, age 18 of Elizabeth, being in possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Sanjuanelo was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS. He was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date.

Later that day, at around 11:28 pm, in an unrelated incident, Patrolman William Hannon – while on patrol – reportedly observed a silver Chrysler traveling westbound on West Westfield Avenue in violation of NJSA 39:3-75 (tinted windows). A traffic stop was conducted and the stop and subsequent investigation resulted in the discovery of the passenger, Anissa L. Rose, age 26 of Montclair, being in possession of suspected marijuana. She was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS. Ms. Rose was found to have two (2) outstanding warrants out of Montclair Municipal Court for $2,500 and Caldwell Municipal Court for $525. She was released into the custody of Montclair Police Department pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date.

April 22, 2017
At approximately 9:18 p.m., Patrolman Ryan Hokanson – while on patrol – observed a silver Lexus traveling westbound on West Westfield Avenue above the posted speed limit permitted in violation of NJSA (39:4-98). The vehicle had multiple other equipment violations. A traffic stop was conducted and as a result of the stop and investigation the driver Ivan Luna-Rodriguez, age 31 of East Orange, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Luna-Rodriguez was placed under arrest and charged with possession of CDS and motor vehicle summonses for obstructed view (NJSA 39:3-74), and CDS in a Motor Vehicle (NJSA 39:4-49.1). He was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date.

April 25, 2017
At approximately 10:32 a.m., Patrolman Mitchell White – while on patrol – observed a male walking southbound on the 500 block of Hemlock Street who appeared to be holding suspected contraband in his hand. A pedestrian stop was conducted and the pedestrian was discovered to be holding a hand-rolled cigar that contained suspected marijuana. The pedestrian, James T. McFadden, age 41 from Roselle Park, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Hindering His own Apprehension after providing the police officer with the false name of “James Settles” apparently knowing he had a warrant out of Essex County Superior Court for non-payment of child support. He was released into the custody of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date.

April 21, 2017
At approximately 3:50 a.m., Patrolwoman Jessica Diaz and Patrolman Angelo Marino conducted a traffic stop in the area of Galloping Hill Road on a 1997 Nissan for a moving and equipment violation. As a result of the stop and investigation, suspected marijuana was found to be in possession of the passenger – Gordon E. Collymore, age 27 of East Orange – and an outstanding warrant for the other passenger. Mr. Collymore was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS. The other passenger, Cogel C. George, age 24 of Irvington, was placed under arrest for contempt of court out of Weehawken Municipal Court with bail set at $102. Mr. Collymore was released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date. Mr. George was released on his own recognizance by the Weehawken Police Department on the warrant. Motor vehicle summonses were issued to the driver of the vehicle for the stop.

May 1, 2017
At approximately 9:16 p.m., Roselle Park police officers responded to the rear of the Roselle Park High School at the Green Acres complex on a report of a suspicious male who was yelling loudly and acting disorderly. Officers made contact with John A. Provino, age 42 from Roselle Park. As a result of the stop and investigation, suspected heroin and marijuana were found to be in possession of Mr. Provino. He was placed under arrest and charged with two (2) counts of Possession of CDS and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Provino was released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date.

Resident Arrested After Report Of Brandishing A Handgun

Late Tuesday afternoon, a little after 5 p.m., Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) officers responded to the 100 block of Chestnut Street on a report of a suspicious male who reportedly entered a local business, brandished a handgun, and fired approximately six shots.

The 9-1-1 caller described the actor as a male, wearing a tan tank top, gray pants, baseball type hat and black backpack. The weapon was described as a small revolver, possibly pink in color. It was later believed to have been a toy cap gun.

Patrolman Robert Harms – who was en route to the scene – located an individual fitting the description given by the caller on Chestnut Street at East Grant Avenue. A positive identification was made by the 29-year-old victim.

The subject was identified as Ronald F. Perry Jr., age 43 from Roselle Park. Mr. Perry was found to be in possession of a small revolver cap gun with approximately six (6) spent cap cartridges loaded in it. He was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of an Imitation Handgun and Disorderly Conduct. He was also found to have four (4) outstanding warrants out of Roselle Park Municipal Court bail totaling $4,000. Mr. Perry was issued a summons and lodged into the Union County Jail on the outstanding warrants.

This is the fifth time Mr. Perry has been arrested in Roselle Park since August of last year.

Car & Motorcycle Reported Stolen In Two Separate Incidents Two Days Apart

On Friday, April 28th, around noon, Roselle Park Police responded to the 100 block of Roosevelt Street to take a report of a stolen vehicle. It was discovered that the owner of a 2012 black Hyundai Wagon parked his vehicle on Roosevelt Street at approximately 10 a.m. and discovered it to be stolen at noon. Witnesses in the area reported observing a tall male with a red baseball cap enter that vehicle and drive away.

The following day, April 29th, around 6:15 in the evening, RPPD patrol responded to the 400 block of Chestnut Street to take a report of a stolen motorcycle. It was discovered that the owner of a 2015 red Honda CRF250L motorcycle parked in front of the residence earlier that day and discovered it to be stolen at 6 p.m.

Truck Strikes Power Lines At Sunrise Village

Today at approximately 11:44 a.m., Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) and the Roselle Park Fire Department (RPFD) responded to Sunrise Village apartment complex at 149 Jerome Street on a report of a utility pole and wires down in the main parking area of the complex.

An investigation revealed that a delivery truck belonging to Allied Building Supplies out of East Rutherford was unloading building supplies. Upon exiting the lot, the truck struck the power lines attached to both the utility pole and the building at 149 Jerome. Reportedly, this caused the utility pole to break into three (3) pieces and pull the façade of the 149 building to the ground.

Two vehicles parked in the lot appeared to have minor damage. No injuries were reported.

The apartment complex management, Borough of Roselle Park building engineer, and PSE&G are on scene attempting to make the area safe and begin cleanup.

It is unknown at this time if the tenants from the one apartment affected will be temporarily displaced.

May 5, 2017
At around half past midnight, Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) officer William Hannon observed a 2005 Mazda traveling on West Westfield Avenue reportedly committing a moving violation resulting in a motor vehicle stop. A subsequent narcotic investigation resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana.

The passenger, Tyler Mastres, age 25 of Keansburg, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and placed under arrest. Mr. Mastres was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to wear a seatbelt.

A second passenger, David Merritt, age 26 of Keansburg, was arrested for hindering apprehension after identifying himself to police as “Elijah E. Hepburn”. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to wear A seatbelt. Both parties were released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of May 18, 2017.

May 6, 2017
At 10:58 p.m., RPPD officer William Hannon observed a 2005 Nissan traveling on West Westfield Avenue with an equipment violation. Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop, a narcotic investigation resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The driver, Jonathan Cherubin, age 20 of Elizabeth, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Cherubin was also issued a motor vehicle summons for driving while suspended, maintenance of lamps, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, and violation of a probationary driver regulations. He was released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date on May 18, 2017.

The passenger of the vehicle, Kerson Thelusma, age 22 of Elizabeth, was placed under arrest on a contempt of court warrant from Newark and Released On Recognizance with a pending Newark Municipal Court date on May 22, 2017.

May 7, 2017
At 11:26 p.m., RPPD officer Kyle Snyder conducted a traffic stop on a 2016 Nissan Altima that was observed traveling northbound on Locust Street for a moving violation. Subsequent to the motor vehicle stop, an investigation resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The driver, Robert Williams, age 27 of Passaic, was placed under arrest and charged withpossession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to observe a traffic control device, careless driving, and operation of a motor vehicle while in possession of a narcotic. Mr. Williams was released on a summons, pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date May 18, 2017.

May 9, 2017
At 1:40 a.m., Sergeant Matthew Disano observed a suspicious 2001 Saturn parked and occupied on West Lincoln Avenue while speaking to the occupants, an investigation resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana. The driver, Kristopher Mccluney, age 22 of Newark, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana. He was released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date on May 18, 2017.

May 10, 2017
At 10:45 p.m., RPPD officer Dean Khallaf observed a 1998 Nissan Altima traveling on West Westfield Avenue with a reported equipment violation. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and an investigation subsequent to the stop resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana. The driver, Kelly Stremy, age 26 of Linden, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of CDS marijuana. Kelly Stremy was released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of May 18, 2017.

May 13, 2017
At 3:05 a.m., RPPD officer William Hannon observed a 2015 Dodge traveling on East Westfield Avenue. A license plate inquiry revealed the registered owner to be suspended. Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop, a narcotic investigation resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The passenger, Rodney Henry Jr., age 26 of Jersey City, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for consumption and open container of an alcoholic beverage within a motor vehicle. Mr. Henry was released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date on May 25, 2017.

May 16, 2017
At 3:10 a.m., RPPD officer Kyle Snyder observed a 2004 Acura traveling on East Westfield Avenue with an equipment violation. Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop, a narcotic investigation resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver, Morgan F. Crawley, age 22 of Roselle, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Margan Crawley was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to wear seatbelt, improper display of license plate, failure to inspect and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle and released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date on May 25th 2017.

RPFD Memorial Service On May 17th

The Roselle Park Fire Department (RPFD) will be holding its 78th Annual Memorial Services at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17th at Kelly-Kalufers Park.

Firefighters – along with their family and friends – invite the community to join them in honoring and remembering members who have passed away.

Kelly-Kaulfers Park is located at the corner of Lincoln and Laurel Avenues.

RP PBA Donates To Memorial Day Picnic

Roselle Park’s Police Benevolent Association (PBA) Local 27 donated water and soda to the Casano Community Center for the Memorial Day Picnic.

The picnic will take place after the annual parade and memorial ceremony. The parade is set to start, weather permitting, at 10 a.m. and proceed from Sherman Elementary School to the front of the Roselle Park Veterans Memorial Library. A remembrance service will take place at noon and be followed by the townwide free picnic.

At approximately 7:45 p.m., Patrolman John Fitzgerald reportedly observed a 2004 Black Honda traveling on Westfield Avenue with an equipment violation. A motor vehicle stop of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana. The driver, a 17-year-old female from Roselle, was issued a motor vehicle summons with a pending Roselle Park Municipal Court date on June 8th. The passenger, Yaa Amankwaa, age 18 of Roselle, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession Of CDS (marijuana) and Failure To Make Lawful Disposition. Yaa Amankwaa was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of June 8th.

May 18, 2017
At 11:12 p.m., Patrolman Ryan Hokanson observed a Grey Nissan traveling eastbound on East Westfield Avenue with an equipment violation. Subsequent to the motor vehicle stop, a narcotic investigation resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana. The driver, Sony O. Georges, age 22 of Elizabeth, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession Of CDS. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for maintenance of lamps. Mr. Georges was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of June 1st.

May 19, 2017
At 1:06 a.m., Patrolman Sam Sukool reportedly observed a 2017 Honda Accord traveling westbound on West Colfax Avenue with an equipment violation. Subsequent to the motor vehicle stop, a narcotic investigation resulted in the discovery of possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver, Giuliana Gonzalez-Arrunate, age 23 of Kenilworth, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession Of C.D.S., Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, and Failure To Turnover CDS. Motor vehicle summonses were also issued for failure to use lamps when required and operation of motor vehicle while in possession of c.d.s. Ms. Gonzalez-Arrunate was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date on June 1st.

May 20, 2017
At approximately 10:33 p.m., Patrolman William Hannon reportedly observed a 2002 Hyundai traveling westbound on West Westfield Avenue with an equipment violation. As a result of the motor vehicle stop, a narcotic investigation resulted in the discovery of possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver, Eric G. Marrero, age 25 of Old Bridge, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession Of C.D.S. and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while suspended, maintenance of lamps, possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle, and failure to exhibit an insurance card. Mr. Marrero was released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date on June 1st.

May 21, 2017
At 1:13 a.m., Patrolman Kyle Snyder reportedly observed a 2003 Mitsubishi traveling on West Westfield Avenue with an equipment violation. Subsequent to the motor vehicle stop, a narcotic investigation resulted in the discovery of possession of suspected marijuana. The passenger, Kyle B. Ferrara, age 20 of Elizabeth, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession Of C.D.S. The driver was issued a motor vehicle summons for tinted windows. Mr. Ferrara was released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date on June 1st.

May 24, 2017
At 9:54pm, Patrolman Dean Khallaf reportedly observed a 2002 Silver Nissan Maxima traveling on West Westfield Avenue. A license plate inquiry of the Nissan revealed the registered owner to have a suspended New Jersey driver’s license. As a result of the motor vehicle stop, a narcotic investigation resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana. The passenger, Gilberto D. Alvarado, age 20 of Elizabeth, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession Of C.D.S. Mr. Alvarado was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date of June 1st. The driver of the vehicle was issued a summons for driving while suspended.

May 26, 2017
At approximately 10:35 p.m., Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) Officer Ryan Hokanson was walking past a parked and occupied 2015 Nissan in the parking lot of a local business on West Westfield Avenue. While walking past the vehicle, Officer Hokanson reportedly detected the strong odor of suspected marijuana coming from the Nissan. He approached and spoke with the driver – Corey Grafton, age 28 from Roselle. A narcotic investigation was conducted which led to the discovery of suspected cocaine and marijuana. Mr. Grafton was placed under arrest and charged with two (2) counts of Possession Of CDS. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Roselle Park Municipal Court for $1,297. Mr. Grafton was issued two motor vehicle summonses for Driving While Suspended and Possession Of CDS In A Motor Vehicle. He was released on a summons after posting full bail and was given a first appearance Superior Court date of June 8th.

May 29, 2017
At around 11:25 p.m., RPPD Officer William Hannon conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Honda that was reportedly observed traveling eastbound on West Westfield Avenue with an equipment violation. During the stop, the driver of the vehicle, Patrick S. Dalton, age 24, and passenger, Kyle I. Williams, age 22, both from Linden were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana.

Mr. Dalton was placed under arrest and charged with Possession Of CDS and Paraphernalia. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to wear a seatbelt, brake light out and Possession Of CDS In A Motor Vehicle.

Mr. Williams was placed under arrest and charged with Possession Of CDS. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to wear a seatbelt.

Both were released on a summons with a Municipal Court first appearance date of June 8th.

June 4, 2017
At approximately 4:40 p.m., RPPD Officer Mitchell White assisted an individual in police headquarters lobby who was identified as Darius A. Johnson, age 19 from Union. He supplied Mr. Johnson with an envelope to place his fine payment in for the court. While having contact with Mr. Johnson, Officer White reportedly detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from Mr. Johnson and conducted an investigation. Mr. Johnson was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and charged with Possession Of CDS and paraphernalia. June 6, 2017
At approximately 1:50 a.m., RPPD Officer Kyle Snyder conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2009 Toyota for an equipment violation on West Westfield Avenue. During the stop and narcotic investigation, the driver, Trevor S. Louther, age 33 from Roselle, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Louther was placed under arrest and charged with possession of c.d.s. and paraphernalia. Motor vehicle summonses were also issued for no front license plate, failure to exhibit registration card, and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. The suspect was released on a summons with a Municipal Court date of June 22nd.

On Memorial Day, at approximately 11:44 p.m., Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) Sergeant Harold Breuninger responded to Camden Street on a report of a dispute between a male and female. Upon arriving, Sgt. Breuninger made contact with a male identified as Anthony C. Williams, age 22 from Elizabeth. The police officer reportedly instructed Mr. Williams to step back and take his hands out of his pockets and the sergeant attempted to approach a female who was sitting in the driveway. Mr. Wiliams allegedly stepped in front of Sgt. Breuninger and assaulted the officer when an arrest was attempted then ran on foot southbound.

Sgt. Breuninger pursued the male several feet away when Mr. Williams again reportedly assaulted the police officer. After a brief struggle, Sgt. Breuninger was able to subdue Mr. Williams by holding him to the ground. The suspect began to fight and try to escape the officer. This resulted in a neighbor assisting the officer in controlling the male until backup officers arrived on scene. Once other officers arrived, Mr. Williams was placed under arrest and charged with Aggravated Assault On Police in the 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest (a 4th-degree offense), and Obstruction.

The suspect was transported to police headquarters where he was placed into a holding cell. During this time, Mr. Williams allegedly punched out the keypad of the jail cell telephone. He was later charged with criminal mischief and subsequently released on a summons with a Superior Court First appearance date of June 12th.

At 3:38 p.m., Patrolman William Hannon observed a 2001 Toyota Sedan traveling westbound on West Westfield Avenue with an equipment violation. During the motor vehicle stop, a narcotic investigation was conducted that resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana. The driver, Sabir Calloway, age 26 of Roselle Park was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana. Motor vehicle summonses were also issued for maintenance of lamps and Possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. Mr. Calloway was released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date on June 15, 2017.

June 7, 2017
At 2:52 am, Patrolman Kyle Synder conducted a traffic stop on a 2017 black four-door Volkswagen that was observed traveling northbound on Locust Street with a moving violation. During the motor vehicle stop, a narcotic investigation was conducted that resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana. The driver, Maryann Glynn, age 37 of Roselle, was charged with Possession Of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Motor vehicle summonses were also issued for possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle and failure to keep right. Ms. Glynn was released on a summons with a pending Roselle Park Municipal Court date set for Thursday, June 22, 2017.

Later that day on an unrelated incident at 10:31 p.m., Patrolman Alexander Lanza conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 black Honda that was traveling eastbound on East Grant Avenue and reported by a resident to be driving erratic in the area. During the motor vehicle stop, an investigation resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana and codeine as well as drug paraphernalia. The driver, Carlos Lantigua, age 19 of Union City, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of codeine, possession of marijuana, Resisting Arrest By Force, Obstructing The Administration Of Law, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Lantigua was released on a summons with a Union County Superior Court date of June 21, 2017.

June 10, 2017
At approximately 12:10 a.m. Detective Sergeant Dominick Frino conducted a check of an occupied parked vehicle that was located in a parking lot of a local business that was closed to the public at the time on West Westfield Avenue. As a result of the stop and subsequent investigation the driver, Kirolos M. Barsoum, age 26 from Elizabeth. was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Barsoum was released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of June 22, 2017.

June 13, 2017
At approximately 9:46 p.m., Patrolmen Kyle Snyder and Alexander Lanza responded to East Westfield Avenue at Pershing Avenue on a report of a suspicious male in the area that appeared intoxicated. Officers located and identified the individual to be Kenneth Moore, age 50 from Newark, who was found to have an outstanding no-bail warrant out of Hudson County for controlled dangerous substances as well as a Jersey City Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $100 for a traffic violation. He was placed under arrest and a subsequent search of Mr. Moore’s outer garments yielded a glassine envelope containing suspected heroin inside. He was subsequently charged with Failure To Turn Over CDS To Police and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Moore was given a Roselle Park Municipal Court date on June 29, 2017 and turned over to Hudson County Sheriff’s Department.

June 15, 2017
At 12:06 a.m., Patrolman Kyle Snyder conducted a motor vehicle stop on a grey 2017 Nissan for a moving violation on Locust Street at First Avenue in Roselle. Subsequent to the motor vehicle stop, a narcotic investigation resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver, Darryl Canady, age 24 of Linden, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession Of CDS and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Canady was released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of June 22, 2017.

Later that day in an unrelated incident, at 2:45 a.m., Patrolman Lanza Alexander conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 white Chevy Cobalt for a moving violation that was traveling westbound on East Grant Avenue. During the motor vehicle stop, a narcotic investigation resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana. The passenger, Jahaad Kane, age 22 of Roselle, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession Of Marijuana and was found to have two (2) outstanding warrants from Cranford and Roselle Municipal Courts. Mr. Kane was released on a summons with a pending Roselle Park Municipal Court date on June 22, 2017 after satisfying both warrants.

June 16, 2017
At 10:24 p.m., Patrolman Kyle Snyder conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2015 Chevy for an equipment violation on Walnut Street. As a result of the traffic stop, a narcotic investigation was conducted that resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana. The driver, Raheem T. Armstrong, age 39 from Newark, was arrested and charged with Possession of CDS. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for unclear plates and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle. He was released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of July 6th, 2017.

June 18, 2017
At 1:18 a.m., Officer Dean Khallaf conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2006 Hyundai for a moving violation on West Westfield Avenue. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and an investigation subsequent to the stop resulted in the discovery of a suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The passenger, Otimar Levitschnig, age 22 of Staten Island, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Failure To Turn Over CDS To Police. Mr. Levitschnig was released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date on June 29, 2017.

June 19, 2017
Around 11:54 p.m., Officer Sam Sukool conducted a motor vehicle stop with a 2003 Honda on Pershing Avenue following a report by a concerned citizen in regards to a parked occupied vehicle in the area for over 20 minutes. As a result of the traffic stop, a narcotic investigation was conducted that resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana. The passenger of the vehicle, Luis G. Fonseca, age 20 from Roselle Park, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS. Mr. Fonseca was ultimately released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of June 29th, 2017.

June 20, 2017
At approximately 12:30 p.m., Detectives Richard Cocca and Edward Nortrup arrested Leon C. Holston, age 50 from Roselle, for a burglary that was committed on June 13th in Roselle Park.

On the 13th, an apartment complex on the 200 block of East Westfield Avenue was forcefully entered and once inside, the two coin-operated dryers in the laundry room were tampered with, resulting in the coin mechanism being pried off and all the change from inside the machines to be removed. Mr. Holston was formally charged with Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Mischief. He was processed and served with a warrant. He was ultimately lodged in the Union County Jail with no bail.

At approximately 2:13 p.m., Patrolman Gregory Polakoski was working court security when Omar Wright, 33, from Newark, walked into the courtroom for a prior scheduled court appearance. While speaking to Mr. Wright, Patrolman Polakoski reportedly detected an overwhelming odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the gentleman. Following an investigation, Mr. Wright was found to be in possession of two (2) controlled dangerous substances, specifically suspected marijuana and cocaine. Mr. Wright was also found to have an outstanding Newark Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $300. He was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Wright posted bail and was released on a summons pending a Union County Superior Court date.

June 23, 2017
At approximately 10:41 p.m., Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) Officer William Hannon observed a 2003 gray Honda Accord traveling on East Westfield Avenue operating with an equipment violation. Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop, a narcotic investigation resulted in the discovery of possession of suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The driver, Carlos Vasquez, age 45 of the Bronx New York, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS, Under the influence of CDS in public, and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Vasquez was issued a summons and released with a future Union County Superior Court date of July 7th.

The passenger Julio Vasquez, age 45 also of the Bronx, was placed under arrest as well and charged with Possession of CDS (Cocaine), Possession Of CDS (Marijuana), and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Vasquez was issued a summons and released with a future Union County Superior Court date of July 7th.

Motor vehicle summonses were also issued.

June 24, 2017
At 12:03 a.m., Patrolman Kyle Snyder responded to the Roselle Park Train Station on a report of a male panhandling. Upon arrival, Patrolman Snyder located a male fitting the description in the area. The male was identified as Kyle Adams, age 29 of Bridgewater. Mr. Adams was arrested on outstanding warrants from Newark and Bridgewater Municipal Courts. He was also reportedly found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle. Mr. Adams was charged with Possession Of A Hypodermic Needle Syringe. He was issued a court date for Newark and Bridgewater warrants and issued on a summons with a pending Roselle Park Municipal Court date set for Thursday July 6, 2017.

June 25, 2017
At 9:18 p.m., Detective Sergeant Dominick Frino observed a green Ford Explorer approaching the intersection of East Westfield Avenue (eastbound) and Galloping Hill Road committing a moving violation. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and an investigation subsequent to the stop resulted in the discovery of possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver, Kymeshia Jones, age 37 of Newark, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, and Failure To Turn Over CDS. Ms. Jones was released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date on July 6, 2017.

June 26, 2017
At approximately 9:22 p.m., Patrolman Dean Khallaf was alerted by the affixed LPR (License Plate Reader) on the patrol unit that a black Mazda traveling westbound on East Westfield Avenue had a suspended registration. A motor vehicle stop was conducted on West Westfield Avenue where an investigation revealed that the driver, Andres Camacho-Lopez, age 26 from Elizabeth, was found to be in possession of a suspected prescription legend drug without a valid prescription. He was placed under arrest and charged with Possession Of Prescription Medication Without Having A Valid Prescription. Mr. Camacho-Lopez was also issued motor vehicle summonses for suspended registration and CDS in a motor vehicle. The vehicle was impounded for suspended registration. Mr. Camacho-Lopez was released on a summons with a future Union County Superior Court date of July 10, 2017.

At approximately 9:19 p.m., Patrolman Kyle Snyder conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Toyota on East Westfield Avenue for an equipment violation. The driver, Vincent E. Clervoyant, age 20 from Linden, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. He was placed under arrest and charged with Possession Of CDS and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia. The passenger, Yvens K. Adelson, age 19 from Linden, was placed under arrest and charged with obstruction after officers reported that he ingested pieces of suspected marijuana during the stop. Motor vehicle summonses were issued and both were released on a summons with a future court date.

June 30, 2017
At approximately 2:37 p.m., Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) officers responded to the 100 block of East Grant Avenue on a report of a bicyclist who was struck by a passing motorist. Once on scene, officers discovered a 16-year-old female – who was said to be riding a bicycle – was struck by a 2009 Honda operated by a 28-year-old Roselle Park resident. The vehicle appeared to be traveling eastbound on East Grant Avenue at the time when the cyclist entered the roadway resulting in the crash. The injuries to the juvenile did not appear to be life-threatening but were transported to University Hospital for evaluation. No summonses were issued to the driver. The incident is under investigation by the Roselle Park Traffic Unit.

July 2, 2017
At approximately 11:11 p.m., Patrolman Angelo Marino conducted a traffic stop on a 1998 Nissan along West Westfield Avenue for an equipment violation. The driver, Mattise N. Tims, age 22 from Union Township, was found to have several outstanding warrants for his arrest out of Roselle Park, East Orange, and Union Township Municipal Courts. He was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Tims was placed under arrest and formally charged Possession Of CDS and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia. He was issued a summons and ultimately lodged in the Union County Jail as he was unable to post bail on the outstanding warrants. Motor vehicle summonses were also issued.

July 3, 2017
At approximately 8:39 a.m., Patrolman Mitchell White responded to Elm Street on a report of an unconscious female who was seated in the driver’s seat of a 1999 Mazda. Upon arrival, officers were able to make contact and awaken the driver who was identified as Nicole L. Kelly, age 38 from Roselle Park. She was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and arrested for the same. Ms. Kelly was formally charged with Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia. She was served with a summons with a future court date and released into the custody of a family member.

At approximately 10:31 p.m., Patrolman Dean Khallaf conducted a traffic stop on a 2006 Nissan on West Lincoln Avenue after a license plate inquiry revealed the registered owner to have an active warrant for her arrest. The driver, Latesa R. Pannell, age 26 from Roselle Park, was placed under arrest for outstanding warrants out of Linden, Roselle Park, and Union Township Municipal Courts bail totaling $1,914. A search incident to the arrest revealed Ms. Pannell to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Pannell was charged with Possession Of CDS and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia. Motor vehicle summonses were issued and she was released on a summons with a future court date after satisfying bail on all warrants.

July 9, 2017
At 10:37 p.m., Patrolman Alexander Lanza responded to a report of a possible fight between multiple parties in the area of East Webster Avenue and Spruce Street. A male, identified as Terrence L. Bradley, age 29 of Newark, was charged with two (2) counts of Criminal Mischief, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct. Mr. Bradley was released on a summons with a superior court first appearance date of July 24th.

July 10, 2017
At approximately 7:45 p.m., Patrolman Angelo Marino conducted a traffic stop on a 2012 Dodge on West Westfield Avenue for a moving violation. The driver, Keith Patterson, age 51 from Irvington, was found to be in possession of suspected suboxone, oxycodone, and chlordiazepoxide as well as a folding knife and Oleoresin Capsicum (O.C.) spray. Mr. Patterson was placed under arrest and charged with three (3) counts of Possession Of CDS, two (2) counts of Possession Of A Prescription Legend Drug, and two (2) counts of Possession Of A Weapon. He was also found to have two outstanding warrants for his arrest out of Union Township and Newark Municipal Court bail totaling $801. Mr. Patterson was ultimately lodged in the Union County Jail on all charges. Motor vehicle summonses were also issued.

July 14, 2017
At 3:51 p.m., Patrolman Robert Harms responded to a report of shoplifting at World of Liquor. The caller gave a description of the suspect as he fled from the store. En route to the location, Patrolmen Jeffery Smith and Robert Harms located a male fitting the clothing description. After a brief investigation, Andre Lewis, age 28 of Roselle, was found to be possession of a bottle of alcohol concealed in the sleeve of his jacket. Mr. Lewis was subsequently charged with Shoplifting. He was additionally charged with a prior incident of shoplifting the same type of alcohol from the same location on July 6th. The information was obtained with the assistance of the store’s security camera footage. Mr. Lewis was also wanted on two (2) outstanding warrants from Bloomfield and West Caldwell. He was transported to Bloomfield Police Department and has a pending court date in Roselle Park on July 20th.

July 16, 2017
Patrolman Kyle Snyder conducted a traffic stop on a 4-door Honda that reportedly failed to stop at the red light. The passenger, Kason Taylor, age 24 of Maplewood, was charged with Hindering Apprehension when providing a false name (Layshawn Williams), date of birth, and social security number to officers. Upon discovery of his true identity, it was revealed Mr. Taylor had outstanding warrants from Springfield, Elizabeth, and Irvington. While at police headquarters, Mr. Taylor reportedly purposely urinated on the floor of the processing room and was charged with criminal mischief. He was released with a pending court date in Roselle Park set for July 27th.

July 17, 2017
At 12:03 a.m., Patrolman Angelo Marino observed a male jaywalking across Locust Street. Subsequent to making contact with the male, it was discovered that he was in possession of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia. The male, Michal Sikorski, age 32 of New York, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS, Possession of Hypodermic Syringe, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Sikorski also had a warrant out of New York and was charged with being a Fugitive from Justice. He was transported to Union County Jail pending a Union County Superior Court Date of August 2nd.

July 18, 2017
At approximately 12:04 a.m., Patrolman Angelo Marino observed a white Saturn traveling westbound on West Westfield Avenue with several equipment violations. Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop and investigation, the driver, Darius Pulley, age 25 of Newark, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Pulley was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and Possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released with a pending Roselle Park Municipal Court on July 27th.

July 19, 2017
At approximately 8:46 a.m., Roselle Park Police were alerted to a shoplifting incident at Family Dollar. The caller gave a description of the suspect and direction he fled from the store. A short time later, a male fitting the description was located and detained outside of police headquarters. An on-scene identification by the caller and the recorded security camera footage from the store was used to positively identify the suspect. A search of the area and the suspect’s route on foot resulted in the discovery of nine (9) packages of diapers discarded and hidden in a nearby location. Martin French, age 51 of Newark, was arrested and charged with Shoplifting. He was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal court date of August 3rd.

Motorcyclist Wanted For Eluding Police

The Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) is reaching out to the public in order to help identify a driver who reportedly eluded police and put numerous drivers at risk.

At approximately 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18th, RPPD attempted to pull the driver over due to the motorcycle not having a visible license plate. The driver ignored the marked patrol vehicle’s activated lights and siren, according to police, continuing east on Westfield Avenue at a high rate of speed. The driver continued into Elizabeth at a high speed and made several dangerous maneuvers to elude police. The pursuit was terminated because of the risk to other drivers.

This same driver is suspected of being involved in a similar incident earlier in the day, eluding the Elizabeth Police Department.

Identification of this motorcycle and driver will assist Roselle Park Police and Elizabeth Police with apprehending the driver.

The driver is described as wearing a red, white and black leather jacket with a light color helmet; possibly a Ducati Corse Leather Jacket.
The motorcycle, possibly a Ducati, was described as a white and red sports bike with red colored wheels.
